WTHA offers a number of awards that recognizes excellence in research, publication and service to the West Texas historical community.

The Mrs. Percy Jones Award recognizes the best article published in the WTHA's annual publication, the West Texas Historical Review (prior to 2013; the West Texas Historical Association Year Book.)
