The West Texas Historical Association Student Scholarship Award is for those interested in the study of the history and culture of West Texas and is in the amount of $750. The scholarship is open to both high school seniors with a proven interest in history and historical research and undergraduate college students with a proven interest in history and historical research who are also declared history majors.

  • Applicants must complete an official application by April 15th.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 (B) grade point average.
  • All applicants must provide a current transcript to the scholarship committee.
  • Applicants must forward two letters of recommendation to the scholarship committee. One of the letters should be from a teacher, counselor or employer. The second should be a personal recommendation from someone other than a family member.


  • All applicants will be notified upon completion of the evaluation process.
